How it works
1) Book a free, introductory chat – a quick, 15-minute call so April understands your child’s requirements and can answer any questions.
2) Choose a course and pay securely online to book your child’s place.
3) Attend six, weekly sessions in the Ingham’s Room of Spring Bank Arts Centre, New Mills.
4) Leave exam-ready, with the knowledge, skills and confidence to tackle that topic in the exam.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
There will be a maximum of 4 students per course, so teaching can be tailored to every child’s needs and all receive individual feedback.
-
You should always do whatever you think is best for your child. However, there are real benefits to small-group tuition, it’s more engaging and the cost is significantly lower.
-
I have extensive experience supporting students with ASD, PDA, ADHD, Anxiety and Dyslexia, and these needs are far easier to support in a small group setting. However, group courses are designed for students who are able to engage in a small group setting – if your child needs one-to-one support, get in touch and we can discuss alternatives.
-
Individual, missed sessions cannot be refunded, but in the case of genuinely extenuating circumstances such as serious illness of bereavement, please get in touch – it may be possible to transfer your child’s booking to an upcoming course.
-
Peak Tuition is a new business venture – please get in touch if you are interested in booking a course but cannot get to New Mills. I am happy to travel and, if the demand is there, will look at booking a teaching space in other local areas.
-
Yes! Peak Tuition is a new business and we are currently assessing local demand, but anything that is on an English GCSE specification in the UK could be covered by a future course. Please get in touch if there’s anything you’d like to see!

April Jones is an examiner for OCR and has moderated coursework for AQA. She would love to offer small group A-level tuition – again, get in touch with what you’d like to see and we’ll make it work.
-
During the last year, April has taught both in-person and online. She wouldn’t rule online tuition out, but for English in particular it’s important that the teacher can read with the student(s) and see what they are writing, and this can be difficult without a shared online platform that everyone has access to.

Cancellations made more than 7 days before a course starts will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days of the start date will receive a 50% refund. Once a course has begun, fees for missed sessions are non-refundable. If Peak Tuition needs to cancel or reschedule a session, a catch-up session or refund will be offered. By booking, you agree that if your course starts within 14 days of payment, you consent to the service beginning and understand this affects your standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
